Time for Abbott to Change his Frontbench

The bleating coming from the Liberals that the Government is illegitimate is rubbish.

The ALP with some help from Independents has a majority - it's as simple as that.

Of course, Australia under an Abbott coalition - with the Nationals - would have been a reactionary Right Wing anti worker party and its's first act would be to return to the Howard Work Places hated legislation. Eric Abetz belled that cat during the campaign.

And it's not beyond the realms of reality that an Abbott Goverment would march backwards and reinstate the titles of the Order of Australia, something even that arch monarchist John Howard didn't contemplate.

Abbott is in the thrall of the ridiculous Professor David Flint and Australians for Constitutional Monarchy, whose clarion call is for us to be a pale imitation of Great Britain.

But leaving all that aside, Tony Abbott needs to rid the dead wood from his shadow ministry.

The list is long and includes: Kevin Andrews, Bronwyn Bishop, Sophie Mirabella, Phillip Ruddock, Peter Dutton, Julie Bishop, Corny Bernardi - all yesterday's people, all seriously Right.

One of the bleats coming from the Conservatives is that Labor is controlled by "faceless" people.

And the Liberals aren't?

Give me a break.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Hugh Morgan would be setting Workplace Relations legislation, Andrew Bolt 's take immigration in general and Mulims in particular would be turned into law. Michael Kroger would personally vet all candidates for pre election and unless they agreed with his own"standards"they wouldn't have a chance in hell.

George Pell's take on education and medicine would be taken seriously.

The upper end of Collins Street and the Right of academia would be the gurus of Abbott's choice.

That's not the kind of Australia we want. Not from the faceless men of the Right.

We came close to an Abbott Australia - thankfully four men stopped that from happening.

An Abbott Government - A Very Scarey Proposition!

The thought of a Government headed by Australia's arch conservative, Tony Abbott, is very chilling.

How unsurprising it would be if it happened to revealed that his Education and Health ministers would be under the control of Cardinal George Pell, his Industrial Relations minister would need to consult Hugh Morgan and Immigration policy would be designed by Andrew Bolt.

His current front bench of "shadows" is perhaps one of the most laughable for decades:

Julie Bishop - Nelson's, Turnbull's and Abbott's ironing lady.

Bronwyn Bishop - affable, elegant, educated but eons past her use-by date.

Kevin Andrews - another Pell acolyte and a racist - remember Dr. Haneef?

Phil Ruddock - the architect of Australia's most disgusting immigration policy since the White Australia Policy.

Peter Dutton - current health shadow and the only Member of Parliament to absent himself from the House when Kevin Rudd made his apology to the Stolen Generation. As a former Queensland cop, there has to be some "history" attached to this man.

Sophie Mirabella - so politically inept she secured the services of the one of the most reviled and disgraced Liberals in Australia - Noel Crichton-Browne -to be her advisor in the election which won her the Victorian country seat of Indi; one of the safest in the country.

How laughable it is of the Opposition to keep asking Prime Minister Gillard to reveal the details, of her conversation with Kevin Rudd the night before the Caucus meeting which voted him out in her favour.

If she needs to reveal what was said, the Australian public really needs to know what Blair, Bush and Howard cooked up to lie their ways into Iraq, destroying the country and killing perhaps millions of its citizens.

How about John Howard coming clean, particularly as the former head of MI5 Britain's crack spy organisation, has done so in the past week.

An the current scandal surrounding the Afghan conflict needs explanations fror the former and current governments in this country.

And for an Opposition which has dispatched two leaders since 2007 asking for Government comment is ridiculous.

What was said to Nelson, Turnbull and Rudd by Abbott and Gillard might make interesting reading but I'll bet my bottom dollar is would not have been as elegant as what Cromwell said to the Long Parliament when he thought it was no longer fit to conduct the affairs of the nation:

You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us be done with you. In the name of God, go!

Australians really need to think carefully - the thought of a Government led by Tony Abbott is too scary for words.

The Egregious Right in the USA

At least the red neck Right in the USA doesn't bother to hide what it thinks - unlike it's poor cousins in Australia - "I'm not Right", one said recently", I'm a conservative!"

Bill O'Reilly, along with his stablemate, Sean Hannity, is the worst offender.

I can't bear to watch Hannity any longer, but there's certain entertainment value in O'Reilly he's such a phony but ever so dangerous.

Before I go on - it's come to my attention that during the 2008 race to the White House, the Republicans rejected outright two men John McCain wanted to sound out as a possible running mate - Joe Liberman , a Democrat and Mike Bloomberg, a Democrat turned Republican. Both are Jews, both gay friendly.

That's the Right of America for you.

So who got the nod - none other than the the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin.

She is now of course hailed as the savior of America by The Tea Party, a gaggle of Right Wing nutters so beloved by O'Reilly and Hannity.

So let's have a look at this incredile woman , who, if McCain had beaten Obama, would have been a heart beat away from becoming the leader of the free world - and who the Right are currently considering nominating as its candidate for for the 2012 run to the White House.

McCain had met her only once briefly when her name was put forward by two of his advisers - Steve Schmidt and Rick Davis.

He remembered she was "dam impressive" but that was soon forgotten as she became public property.

At 44, she was an ex beauty queen,; pro life, anti abortion, anti stem cell research. Her teenage daughter was pregnant out of wedlock, she'd never travelled abroad; in fact she was deemed so unsuitable a seasoned Republican strategist told a reporter: I'll be she's off the ticket inside of ten days!

She was so off the planet she was considering, when Governor of Alaska, making it mandatory for rape victims to pay for their own pregnancy tests.

In spite of a myriad of rumours about her her husband and one of her sons, inspite of her making an absolute idiot of herself in TV interviews she perservered and the Republicans warmed to her; well some did.

Dick Cheney told friends: McCain has made a reckless choice.

The rest is history and the Right of the USA is floundering in a sea of irrelevance and racism.
